There were 41 people in attendance including the guest speaker and his wife. The total included 15 visitors and 26 members. Two of the guests indicated an interest in joining our chapter.  The speaker, Gary Foreman,, of Granbury, Texas, shared his lifelong interest in history, historical reenactment and historical figures of the mid-19th century particularly Davy Crockett. Foreman addressed the question of why Crockett was, a well-known American folk hero and Tennessee politician, at the Alamo in March, 1836.  When Crockett joined with the defenders, this potential Texan had traveled from the U.S. to Texas to scout the Red River area in search of land to claim and settle. Mr. Foreman is completing a book on Crockett’s life and connections to Texas.
